Overview
The facility
The extensive Vendrell Platja campsite is located in the quiet Comarruga district of the town of Calafell, around 30 km south of Tarragona. Baix Penedès, the surrounding region, is considered Catalonia's gateway to the Costa Dorada and is famous for the "castellers" and their tradition of human pyramids. Vendrell Platja borders directly on the almost 10 km long sandy beach and delights the whole family with activities, sports and entertainment.
The campsite has 169 bungalows and 29 safari tents and offers a reception, safe (at the reception), bar, supermarket, laundry and parking. Wi-Fi available in public areas for a fee. Gastronomically, there is 1 a la carte restaurant, 1 cafeteria and 1 beach club with snack bar.
Location: The wide, gently sloping sandy beach is just 50 m away. The lively town center of Calafell with shopping facilities, bars and restaurants is around 1.5 km away. The Port Aventura theme park is around 38 km away and Barcelona Airport is around 70 km away.
Swimming: Supervised freshwater swimming pool with children's pool and slides (open depending on the weather), free sun loungers and deckchairs by the pool. 100 m to the long, gently sloping sandy beach.
Family-friendly: Children's playgrounds, playroom, children's entertainment, mini club with arts and crafts and mini disco (6-12 years), teens club, fitness club, pool games, evening entertainment.
Leisure/sports: table tennis, football, basketball, boccia, aerobics, Pilates, gymnastics, water polo, water aerobics. For a fee: paddle tennis, billiards, bike rental for adults and children, fitness. Nearby for a fee: golf course approx. 3 km away.

An Erholung war in diesen Ferien nicht zu denken. Auf der Anlage war es permanent laut, die Infrastuktur der Häuschen ist ungenügend, der Ferienort nicht schön.

Der Camping liegt sehr schön und ist sehr nahe vom Strand, dem man sehr schön entlanglaufen kann. Die Anlage ist gross und man ist sehr für sich. Wir hatten zu zweit ein Mobilhome und waren sehr zufrieden. Rundum super Ferien.

About the location
The quiet coastal resort of Comarruga (in Catalan: Coma-Ruga) lies between Barcelona and Tarragona, on the Costa Dorada with its legendary «golden beaches». It is part of the El Vendrell municipality and was mentioned in historical records for the first time in 1180. Many well-preserved residential houses and renaissance-style villas contribute to Comarruga’s townscape. The thermal spas at Estany and Riuet on the beach are well-known for their healing effects! They account for the development of Comarruga as a holiday and bathing resort in the 29th century. Today it is renowned for its long, broad sandy beach. Since 1988 it has been proud to bear the «Blue Flag» seal of quality. Gently sloping and easy to keep an eye on, the beach is ideal for bathing holidays with children.
About the region
The Costa Dorada is well-known for its long, gently sloping, fine-grained sandy beaches and offers the ideal setting for superlative bathing fun. The golden sand is interspersed with fine, shimmering mica grains. The sand glitters and sparkles, especially in the surf wave area, golden in the sunlight.
Directions
By car: Take the AP 7 highway (France), at Orange take the A9 in the direction of Montpellier/Girona. Continue on the A9, E15, AP-7 towards Barcelona, continue on the AP-7 towards El Vendrell. In El Vendrell turn onto the N340, turn left at Playa de Comarruga, straight ahead along Playa de San Salvador. After a few meters straight ahead you will find Camping Vendrell Platja.
